There has always been something so very... elusive, I suppose you could say, about film scores. To this day, they remain my favourite form of music. The works that I have collected of them stretch far and wide, and continue to grow with every day that passes.
When I was around twelve years old, I began a small project which would someday become a monumental amount of collected work.
The first film that I ever scored was the 1931 Alfred Hitchcock film the Skin Game.
What I would do is simple. I watch films over and over until I get a true feeling for what the film is about, and then go back, turn off the sound completely, and write my own scores, in the only way I know how to write music.
I then record the scores and file them away. They have never been heard outside of my own ears.
What I am thinking of doing is releasing these scores in volumes according to a certain categorisation.
Perhaps, five films at a time.
The set will come with two CDs for each film.
One with the sound of the actual film mixed into my score, but with the original score removed.
And one just with the music.
That way anyone that might enjoy turning off the volume to the film can watch it with my score, but still hear the actual film.
If you have a request for me to score a film that you enjoy, or you are a film maker looking to get your film scored, and you would like a sample, send an E-Mail to the highlighted 'here' above.
